Very nice Gail. Nicely balanced in color...Guess I should dig out
a picture and play with it...

Thanks, Dora. I was able to get some interesting coloring ideas by comparing
Virtual Painter's treatment to 'real world' oil paintings.

I am not a newbie or a lurker (hardly)..

Love the texture, it makes it look so real. Nice composition too.

Nice twiddling, an hour well spent!

I was thinking it was printable too, Barb. Well done, Gail. I like how the
people on the watch deck came out.

Take care,
Linda

The only thing I really like about VP is the coloring. It doesn't offer much
in the way of control of the other variables IMO.

Thanks, Joelle. I did the texture in an old version of Painter that I have.
I like the way it does texturing better than any other app I've tried. I
only use it for that, and occasionally for lighting effects.

Thanks, Linda. In the original photo, I find that the people detract from
the scene, but I agree with you that with this particular treatment, they
seem to add interest.

Gail: any chance you could post the original photo of the Falls?

Thanks,

I was off to the local library looking for art books. Came home empty
handed. Our library is sorely lacking , else they were all out.

I usually look at websites for ideas. This is a good starting point for art
surfing:
