Beauty may be in the eye of the beholder, but art is in the eye of the
critics. Every few years someone gets rave reviews - only to be
revealed as a toddler, a gorilla, etc. And still it happens...

But it's funny that I just posted Kipling in the other thread. The
question has been around for a long time.

There are some clues one can look for. Got #2 wrong though.

I don't believe it . . . I scored 100%. Not sure how good a
thing that is. LOL

It depends on whether you have more in common with apes or with
artists :)

Guess I'm still 1/6 ape. Hmmmm.... As I watch what the news and
see what's happening among humans around the world, perhaps I'm
making slow but sure progress....

The Museum of Hoaxes is a great site ;-) I hadn't seen the one at the link
you posted, though, thanks! I missed your Kipling post, will look for it.

I just got 100%, too, Barb. I looked for balance mostly in deciding what was
done by a person. (I could have believed that the ones done by apes were
also done by humans, though. *g*)

Which ones did you miss, Gail?

Did you also see this: http://reverent.org/painting_contest_entries.html
These entrants need to work harder on their bad art, though, I think. There
could be much, much worse stuff than this. Entrants need Sally to get on
their case, or maybe they just need to look at some of the Valentine
Massacre entries. ;)

At least I know I'm not alone in whatever dubious merits it
brings. :))

Well...

I got the Pollock and the Kandinski right, but that's just because I
recognized them. Parabel appeared ape-ish to me, and there's some really
talented gorilla with a penchant for blue that looks pretty marketable to my
eyes.
