The Dragan treatment is excellent. It rarely fails to create a mood of
mystery.
You can almost see him there, hiding.
He looks rather sad, but I confess I have no idea what a happy chimp's eyes
look like :-)
You're a talented chap Andy.
:-)

Joelle,
Thanks for the kind words.
I painted the original from a photograph and have always thought the chimp
was 'looking out at you and reflecting on human nature'....no wonder it
seems sad ...lol

Ah, if it's subjective viewpoints you want....
I've rarely seen an image that I thought the 'dragan like' technique
improved. Even in this one, I much prefer the original to the
modified. It looks color shifted to green, and obscured by a pattern,
hiding the actual image.

I like him but I think I'd like him better without the bars across his face.
Could you leave the Draganizing in the background and fade into a clean
face? Good watercolor work.

First, the sketch is nice. No comment there.
I have to agree with Jeanne about the effect. It's as if the animal
is behind bars with its back against a wall, which may or may not be
what you intended, but looks unnatural to me. Its situation also
distracts from the face, I want to look beyond it: where is the rest
of the surroundings and what's going on.
And in general, it's good to see I'm not the only one not very much
enamoured with the effect at all. Of course that is just a matter of
personal taste.

Andy your chimp looks sad like he has been living behind bars.
