I really like your entry, Christel.

Jo, Jeno and Angie, nice entries, but.....please some info. with your
entries, how else are we going to learn from each other :-))

As to how I did mine...well, I started out in much the same way that you did
by combining the photos that Porter posted and reducing the size. I then
used the collaged photo as a reference and worked over several layers. I
painted the landscape by using a grass tube in places, the smudge tool, the
warp tool, soften, motion blur and gaussian blur in places (basically just
played with effects until I got something I liked) to get different shapes
and textures. Oh, and I flood-filled with textured color in and applied
texture effects in some areas. When I had the background landscaped
finished, I started adding details. I had a hard time thinking about exactly
what made Grandma's houses so out of perspective yet recognizable and then I
just thought about how her paintings were so child-like and simple and went
back and thought about how I used to draw houses as a child. I really feel
like I didn't add enough detail-trees, houses, people-but I also felt like I
had expended way too much energy and time on this particular project so I
just merged, duplicated, applied some edge effects and blend modes,
texturized the entire image and posted it. I'm really going to have to try
to remember that PSP was created to make this kind of stuff easier and just
filter the heck out of everything until it resembles something close to what
I'm after. ; )

Very well done, Christel. The out-of-perspective buildings in the
foreground and the simple animals and children are certainly like Moses!

Thanks, Angie. I too felt, that I should have spent less time on the
project, but then again, that's how one learns, I suppose :-))

Thanks,Jeanne. Can you believe, I had to try my darndest to paint the
buildings that way, just went against the grain of everything I had been
taught.:-)

Thanks to Jeno, Gail and Michelle, for your kind comments on my painting.
Now, Gail and Michelle, get your artistic brain cells in gear and let us
