Writing this from the office.... Planned to have it up today, but Comcast
has been out since last night at 5, and they couldn't give me an estimate as
to when it would be repaired when I called (again) at 8AM this morning...If
it still isn't fixed when I get home tonight, I'll come back to the office
and upload from here....

I'm currently in a coffee shop that has a hotspot with my laptop

Comcast is still out, and the lovely people there have as yet been unable to
tell me when
their servers will be once again functional in my area. Evidently, diverting
traffic from the storm
damaged South Florida servers 500 miles south of here to the northern part
of the state has
caused some issues...or so I have been told. This, however does not explain
why my
co-worker 2 miles away (also a Comcast high-speed subscriber) has not had
the same issues.

I am so fed up with these people..... I cannot tell you how PO'd I am.
Unfortunately, Tallahassee
is not exactly Atlanta and my choices for high speed access here are not
exactly numerous.
It's hard to believe, given my personal experience, (this is by no means my
first multi-day
outage with Comcast here) but the other providers in town are actually
WORSE.

I'll get everything in place as soon as I can, folks. Sorry about any
delays.

JP, no problem- you are gracious enough to do this, and you can't control
Comcast.:-) We can wait.:-)

Not to worry, JP. We're supposed to be having fun with graphics here.

Well, it took 4 days, 11 phone calls, six e-mails and a year off my life,
but as of this morning, Comcast
has finally remembered that I'm a customer (so **that's** why I keep sending
them those checks!) and
that I sometimes like to be able to use the services for which I am paying,
so I hope to have the gallery
up today.

All it really took was a call to the corporate offices in Philadelphia and a
somewhat pointed parody of
one of their "Comcastic" ads sent to the Marketing VP (which included audio
snippets of my own real telephone
calls to tech support and screenshots of e-mails sent to me by their
customer care division) to generate a real,
direct-dial telephone number of a technical support manager who was all too
happy to help me resolve the
problem. It took less than 10 minutes. It would have taken less than 10
minutes on Tuesday morning if any
of the 5 previous tech support folks had been listening to me.

I'd do without television and the internet before I'd ever let Comcast back
in the door. I may pay more for my DSL provider and satellite TV, but I no
longer have to go through what you've been going through.
