| Finally I got something finished in the painting medium. I have never
before painted a whole image in PSP. I did the whole thing in PSP X. I
didn't use any revolutionary techniques, just lots of brushes, layers,
smudging, pushing, gaussian blur, opacity and density adjustments,
canvas texture and drop shadow for frame, a lot of praying, that sort of
thing. I decided it was a lot easier to paint on canvas with oils than
to paint in PSP as a newbie.

Jeanne, this came out really good, I'm impressed! I like the vivid
Halloween colors, and I think the witch and bat are excellent.

Thanks, Jo=EBlle. It took forever but I did learn a lot that I wouldn't=20
have taken the time to do otherwise. That was the point of the whole=20
contest, so it was a good thing.

You're either being very nice, which you always are, or you do like it.
Either way, I'm pleased! You know I worked on this in bits and
pieces for weeks. I learned two things. I can do something reasonable
painting a whole picture in PSP and probably I never will again! Shaky
hands make it REALLY difficult. I think I will use painting in
combination with other techniques -- that was the ultimate benefit for me.

Good for you, Jeanne.... useing the painting tools in PSPX is like
wrestling with a dragon (so to speak) and not just for a newbie
either,lol.

Thank you, Wendy. I kept your little painted bird as an inspiration but
you definitely leave me in the dust.

Thanks, Christel, for the compliment and for being understanding of the
torture I endured! I think your dragon wrestling description is very apt.

Don't forget the horror of trying to whip something into shape with
those PSP painting tools. That was pretty scary! Not to mention maddening.

Thanks, Michelle. I'm no longer scared of them but I don't find them easy
to use. They keep getting in the way!

Naaa, I'm not that nice. I wouldn't say I liked something if I didn't
;-)) I know what you mean about painting a whole pic in PSP. Every so
often, I have a go at it, though even without shaky hands, I generally
find it more challenging than my attention span will allow.

I think the best use of the painting tools will be to use them in
conjunction with other techniques, at least for me.
