Deathmatch entry, perhaps
|
|

| Well, not really a deathmatch entry. More a "slight-indisposition-
easily-cured-with-an-Aspirin-match" entry. I'm submitting it so that
JP has something to discard out of hand when judging the entries so
she can feel she is retaining the ones with real merit.
It all started with a photo of some trees, which appealed to me
because one was front-lit and turning color and the other was back-lit
and not turning color. It was a sort of point-counterpoint thing (see
attached).
However, with the photo in hand I realized that a quick hue spin,
a bit of a warp, some clashing color on a new layer, and a touch
vector work created a pathetic vaguely halloweenish thing. Naturally
I couldn't resist posting this ghastly image for your edification
and as a counterpoint to the actually creative entries from others.
(See second attachment.)
By the way, I'm giving chocolate covered turnips to the kids that
come by this year. I can't wait to see their faces when they try
them. It sure beats entering a deathmatch.

What a fantastic imagination you have, Spandy. I would have never seen
that ghoulish face in those trees. I think you deserve a special price for
that :-)

Your entry is definitely a serious contender with its leering tree
monster. Chocolate-covered turnips? Have a heart. If you can't
abandon the vegetable family, at least you could use carrots. If you go
with the turnips, you'll have a lot of cleaning up to do.

Much better than mine.

Is this the rutabaga version of Sweeney Todd, or is it more like a
human serving up a pot of monkey stew?

You make it sound like http://tinyurl.com/79s8t or even like
http://tinyurl.com/4lsep. Actually, it's more a Halloween thing
like this: http://tinyurl.com/dwhyz. Besides, rutabagas are
always unfairly being accused of turnipry and turnips should be
punished for this. A chocolate covering seems to have just the
right calorie count in this regard.

Is that why "Boo" is so tentative, prim and proper? :) With a
large in-your-face BOO, this could be a contender.
