Neat image, Michelle. Are you moving or why are you packing up
the house?

Thank you, Jeanne :-) I wish I was going somewhere <g>. We're
having the house renovated next Monday. Kitchen is being gutted
(YAY, a new kitchen!) and we're removing paneling, changing the
layout (slightly), removing carpeting & redoing hardwood floors
(if they're salvagable) in the rest of the house. The only
things not being done are the bedrooms and bathroom, (not much of
an escape, one can only spend so much time in either of those 2
places) which means I have to pack up almost the entire house
*sigh*. I'm not looking forward to the process (nor dismantling
the desktop computer) but I am looking forward to the result. I
just hope the colors I picked out look good. I'm also hoping the
cable line in my bedroom is OK because that's where I'll
temporarily be hooking the computer up. My hubby suggested going
without the web for the 6 weeks or so it's supposed to take. I
nixed that idea immediately....what was he thinking? I'll need
something to do in all of that time, doncha think? ;-))

Looks like rolling clouds of fire & snoke in the background. What did you
do that effect?

I used one of the Filters Unlimited plug-ins. Under
textures...it's called plasma. I only remembered because I
haven't used it since and it defaults to the last used filter.
Good thing because according to FU, I have 699 filters in there
(eek!) ;-))

I think it could also be called... Invasion of the Spikey Color
Leaves! :-) Look at how they're coming towards us, all charged with
energy. And then there's that boiling sky in the background.

It's a bit too blurry to my taste, but very nice color-wise.

Good luck with the renovation, and no, six weeks without internet
connection is a bad idea. Similar to quitting smoking in the middle
of one's exams :-)

Love it!
Happy packing, we have just been through that and still have part of the
kitchen in the diningroom. That's the downside when you do these things
yourself. I hope you have someone else doing the work!!

If you can live through it, you will be very glad you did it. Living
without a computer for 6 weeks? NO, NO, NO. Impossible.

Thank you, Joske :-). I had experimented with blurring the edges
of the spikes and when there was no blur, I didn't like it as
much, probably because the edges were a bit chunky.... I think I
forgot to have antialias on when I made the preset shape. I
could have started over but I was too lazy ;-)

Thanks, I appreciate it and I agree. Hubby doesn't go online
every day so he wouldn't miss it a bit :::snort::: It's funny
you mentioned smoking because I was planning on quitting, my Dr.
gave me meds to help but I've been putting it off, partially
because I think I'll have a better chance of quitting after the
renovation. OTOH, it would be nice to quit beforehand because
afterwards, I plan on not smoking in the house. I'm still
undecided. *sigh*. Maybe I'll wait until my cough gets worse
(just kidding) :-)

Thanks,Joëlle! We're not doing it ourselves... I like to say
that my hubby needs directions with a screwdriver, but don't tell
him I said that, LOL. Our neighbors down the block are doing it
themselves (it's what her hubby does for a living) and it's taken
over a year so far and still not finished.

I weeded out my kitchen and put all non-essentials in my
basement-the kitchen will be done last. Most of the boxed goods
are going into my basement... my china and crystal is NOT going
to be in a pod in our driveway ;-). Electronics too, all
downstairs. I plan on finishing the packing by friday, the pod
will be delivered by then, and we'll put our furniture into it
until we're done. Hmmm, I'm rambling so I think I'll shut up
now. (caffeine, wheeeeeeee) <g>

Thanks, Jeanne, I'm so looking forward to it...I hope to live
through it and come out with a bit of sanity left. I've hated
the house, particularly the kitchen, where I spend most of my
time, for years. Everyone says the same thing about having no
computer. I should print out the replies and show hubby, LOL.
Not that it matters, I'm hooking it up no matter what I have to
do <g>.

Someone has invented a computer that you wear - that could be handy for

If you do decide to try, and don't succeed, try again in a year or
so with this very promising drug:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rimonabant

(lots of other links but I don't want to seem to advertise anything
here)

Joske, thank you for the link. It may be something to check out
if the Zyban doesn't work.

Cool! I find it so much more relaxing to do this kind of thing than
fixing photos. Weren't you and Joske were talking about that recently?
Good luck with the house!

Thanks Gail! Me too, and yes, we were (I think.... my brain is
foggy, the contractor just left and we have to change the kitchen
plans a bit. Ugh). That's actually why I decided to do it. I
needed a break and wanted to do something fun. And fun it was
