The soil here is neutral, so ok for most things, but we don't get that
wonderful autumn colour Canadians are blessed with (and New England).

Thanks Christel, where is Terrace?
Just nosey :-))

That's ok, Joelle,...When my husband was still well, we used to live in
Terrace for many years. It is situated in the North-West of British
Columbia, about 90 miles inland from Prince Rupert. It is beautiful, but
rugged country there, lots of virgin forests, mountains, wild rivers and
all kinds of wildlife...ideal for hunting and fishing.
Christel.

PSP is useless for soil acidity but try it on the colors.

Joèlle, that is very nice. Our soils here in midwest are very
alkaline and our sumacs are brilliant red - maybe a different variety.

I am jealous!
Our soil is a sandy loam, more sand than loam. This type of soil is known as
Greensand and was used for casting iron in the 19th Century!
It's taken me 23 years of digging in compost to improve the soil fertility.
I think I prefer your soil, it sounds a better deal :-))
I bet your azaleas are quite beautiful.
:-)

No, azaleas are not that easy - they like acid soils. We have
alkaline clay - limestone based.
