Hi Ron,
I just wanted to let you know that I actually understood what
you've done so far and I get it! OK... so were only just
starting but still, I expected to get confused right off the bat,
like I've done with the other histogram tuts I've read. I had to
read it several times for it to sink in, but the way you have
explained things so far, has been easy to understand. Thank you
so much for doing this!

Glad to hear that! Hopefully I can maintain that level through the
entire tut.
Just remember, if you have any trouble with a section, just ask and
I'll be happy to explain.

Thanks, Spandex (love the name, LOL). I already have this one
and it's a good one. I love all of Porters tuts. This was the
tut that helped me the most, I understood it more than the other
ones I've seen. When Ron is done, I'll have a better
understanding of how the tool works though because he's going
into more details and I love details ;-)

Ron, I'm trying to put all three sections into html format so I
can get pictures and text on screen together. It would be even
better for me if I could get it to work as a quick guide so that
I could also have an image open on screen too and practice on it.
So far I haven't gotten he quick guide to show up from within psp
9. Must read Lori's tut on making quick guides again.

Aunty, I don't know if this would help you but I printed my tuts
and opened up the images in PSP. For me, it's easier to have a
hard copy (which I could also read if I'm away from the
computer), rather than switching back & forth windows on the
computer. If I wanted to, I could code the tut to open as html
page, after all, it's only text and a few images, so it would go
pretty fast, but it's not worth it for me to do it when printing
it actually works better for me :-)

Thanks Michelle but I think I found the problem. Quick guides
start pages have to be .htm, .html won't work. I have the first
two working. I just need to get the pictures loading at the same
time as the text.
Quick Guides come up small enough that I can usually keep them
open and work on an image at the same time.

Great Job, Aunty! Now that the first part is done, a compilation of
the entire thing, with grammar corrected would be appreciated. I
can't believe that I was actually thinking of two different sentences,
and then wrote the first of one, and the end of the other!
"This is" and "There are" became 'This are three different
images...'
Oh well, I hope I didn't mess up the technical side! Nobody has
yelled... yet.
Thanks, and share it with everyone.

That one is very clear too, and written with humor. I haven't had
time to delve into Ron's instructions, but I appreciate that he has
done a lot of work on them. In my experience, in my mind it can be
clear how a tool works, but it's quite another matter to find the
right words to explain it to someone else :-)

| Had some time today.
This is my rendition of Ron's tut in Quick Guide format.
Unzip Photo2.zip to either quick guide folder, the one in My
Documents, or the one in the Paint Shop Pro program tree.
Open PSP, click on help, learning center, open photo2 and click
on Histogram&Curves.
Each page has a navigation link to the next and there are also
arrows on top if you want to back up.
Ron, if you want to change anything, please let me know.

Thank you for taking the time then. My time has been limited and I have
been sharing it and balancing it the
best I can. We are getting home ready to put up for sale. Seems like we
have been doing it forever.
Hence no time to follow up but I have been saving everything in files.....

AuntySpam! I unzipped the zip file in the My Documents PSP files Quick
Guides. I an unable to get them in PSP-10. I got to help, then Learning
Center, but they don't show up there. Did I do something wrong?

Alas, Psp X doesn't have quick guides. I miss them too, especially miss
making my own using tips & tricks learned in the newsgroups.

Alas, PSPX doesn't have Quick Guides. Dropping it was one of the
'Improvements?'
You can still view the tutorial, just use your web browser to open the
file named Index.htm. (most web browsers have a browse button that
lets you select a file on your hard drive to view.
All of the contents of the zip file must have been opened into a
directory somewhere for this to work.

My work-around suggestion would be to create a shortcut icon of your
Quick Guide folder(s) and place it in the Start menu. Not as efficient
as opening in PSP, but at least you won't have to hunt all over your HD
to find a specific instruction.
Only played with PSPX trial, but I agree with the overall consensus
about Corel's decision on dropping QGs. I like having a place to keep
all my "notes" in PSP.
