Hi,
I created an image of a music note using a font character in PSP 9. Somehow
I must of deleted the font, because now when I try to open the file (located
on a CD-ROM) it asks if I want to use Ariel as the default, I select the
Browse button. I Browse for the font file that I thought I used but get the
wrong character.
Is there anyway I can read the data of PSP image file and retrieve the name
of the font I that I used when I created the image?
Thanks,

Try opening the file in Notepad (e.g. in Win XP's Windows Explorer,
right-click, Open With, Choose Program, Notepad), ensure that Word Wrap
is checked, you should see "Paint Shop Pro Image File" at the start and
loads of random characters following. Search (Ctrl-F) for the words
Background, or Text, or Vector, and see if nearby in the display is a
text string containing the font name. In a quick test I did, all these
words and text strings were near the end of the file. This might all be
too difficult if it's a large file.
Others might know if you can find out the original font within PSP 9
itself. What does it show in the font selection box after choosing Edit
Text on the vector character, having opened the file and choosing a
replacement font?

Yes. Open the PspImage file in a binary editor (e.g. freeware
like FileAlyzer) and scroll to near the end to find some font
names. See attached, which is a some of the content for the
inset image.
