Author "Not A Valid Paint Shop Pro Image File"??
Lady Rhyanon

I get that error when I try to open .psp files in Animation Shop 3.11.
I have checked in my PSP and have it set to save as psp9 compatable file.
Does anyone know what else could be the problem?
Thanks

Either save a copy of them as PSP7 compatible or use the Animation Shop
file type (which does the same thing).

Yes. Animation Shop, written long before PSP 9 came out, does not
understand that format. In File > Save As, choose Save as type =
Animation Shop.

Just watch out that your Psp 9 images with all that art media and vectors
does not now save as psp 7

After you have saved your Animation Shop files be sure to
set the format option back to PSP 9 compatible so that things
like new text features, symmetric shapes, art media layers
and so on are saved properly and completely.

I have this problem also... but have no answer as to why...I have psp9 and
Animation shop 3.11. Everything worked fine until I upgraded to psp9. The
old psp8 files still are fine to open in animation shop however.

Please read the answer as to why in the earlier posts of this
thread.

You do have an answer. The answer is in this thread. You are
attempting to open a file that Animation Shop does not
understand because it is in a format that is later than the
latest format that Animation Shop knows about, which is the
PSP 7 format. If you don't want the problem any more then
stop trying to open PSP 9 format files with Animation Shop.

Have you saved your image as an Animation Shop.psp file (2nd from the top in
the Save As list)?
The normal .psp file won't work.
See if this does the trick.

That's not very friendly Spandex,
Jason wouldn't have asked for help if he was aware of the difference. It
seems perfectly logical for him to assume that when he bought PSP9 with
Animation Shop 3.11, that the two would work together.
A little patience goes a long way.
