I know it's a little OT, but may I suggest that you check your system
clock. Your posting says 1969. Haven't seen that for a long while.

Looks OK to me. If you see 1969-12-31 16:00, give or take an hour, on
your system, ISTM that your system is giving you time_t = 0, 1970.0 UTC,
in your local time.
