Valtira is announcing the availability of Simplicis 2.0 for early
access evaluation at http://www.valtira.com/page/simplicis.jsp.

Simplicis is a tool to enable business users in departments or small
to medium-sized enterprises to take control over their content and
keep their web site current and relevant. Simplicis provides a simple
web forms-based interface for creating and editing web pages and
content. It also provides developers with a structured backend for
reusing content in different page contexts and integrating with
external systems.

Simplicis is based on open technologies. Templates are constructed
using JSP and page layouts are defined through CSS stylesheets. You
can write custom Java objects to integrate with external systems and
Simplicis provides an open API for integrating Simplicis with external
authentication and access control systems. We providing a binding for
our own single sign-on tool, Rolecall, that supports SSO
authentication against LDAP or ActiveDirectory.

Simplicis features include:
* Management and delivery of multi-lingual content.
* No need for content owners to learn HTML or site layout.
* Simple markup language for advanced presentation needs without the
danger of open tags or dead links.
* Support for themes that enable the same content to have multiple
layouts and presentations. Themes can be set based on vanity URL or
overt user preference.
* The ability to define multiple page types that define the various
kinds of general page layouts of your site.
* The ability to define multiple content types that define how various
kinds of content appear within a given page.
* The ability to associate attributes with different page and content
types.
* Easy enabling of SSL by simply clicking a checkbox. All URL's are
automatically restructued to go via SSL and non-SSL access to those
pages are re-routed via SSL.
* Support for multiple "home" pages based on vanity URL.
* Bundled licensing options that include Rolecall and Orion.
* System requirements: J2EE application server (Orion is embedded for
the evaluation license) and a ANSI-92 relational database (evaluation
version comes with scripts to setup tables in MySQL).
