Displaying images IE and Firefox vs. Opera

| For a site i am working on, I am using some images as buttons that
have text in them (a custom font). When viewing the site using opera,
my browser of choice, the buttons are displayed very crisply even with
different sized browser windows. However with both IE and Firefox the
buttons don't display nearly as crisply. Is anyone familiar with the
difference in how Opera displays images as opposed to IE/Firefox?
Thanks

Images should not be used as buttons, whether that means using them as form
buttons or as links. It would take too long to explain here why, especially
since you don't clarify which of the mistakes you have made.

Sorry, Extra-Sensory Perception having become too rare these days, I'm
afraid nobody will be able to analyze the problem without a URL.

Why do you expect that to be the problem? Did you test with plain images?
