Hi,

I'm trying to learn more about usability considerations for the design
of websites.

Can anyone recommend some good resources for newbies?

So far I've the only thing I've read is "Designing Web Usability :
The Practice of Simplicity by Jakob Nielsen". It seems ok but a bit
dated.

thanks
Josh

Nielsen is good. Real good. Though not really god.

If you've read a book of his and understood most of it, you're way ahead of
most of us in learning about usability, but this doesn't mean there isn't
anything else to learn. Nielsen's web site is cool, not in appearance but in
content, especially if you go directly to the alertboxes, which are very
readable treatises on essential topics: http://www.useit.com/alertbox/
