| I am brand new to Flash. I have MX 2004 and have read the How To material,
but I still don't understand this basic task:
How can I create a sequence of .jpg images that fade from one to another.
An example: http://hometownbuffet.com/
Thanks for any help.

select the 1st frame of the 1st layer go to File > Import > Import to
stage
select your jpg form the folder you have & double click on it.
no you have your jpg in the layer.
now select the image on the stage go to modify > convert to symbol or
F8 there you will see 3 behavior select graphic behavior
now go to the 10th frame right click & select insert key frame & do the
same in the 20th frame
now go to the 1st frame select the image on stage & give alpha 0 then
go
to 20th frame select the image on stage & give alpha 0
then select any frame between 1 to 10 right click create motion tween
again do the same between 10 to 20
you have done the 1 st task just play & check if its fine
no you go to the layer 2 and do the same thing but with the next jpg &
start from 15th frame.
hope u got it right

| Thanks - that did the trick! Flash seems to have a steep learning curve.
I'm now trying to figure out how to upload it ...
