Author Flash Sorenson Video Editing Problem.

I would really appreciate some help here.

I start with a AVI file which I import into Flash MX.

I break it up using key frames, removing the frames from the source video
that I don't want. I end up with several layers all with different sections
of the same video on.

In FlashMX it plays fine.

The exported file however results in just the uncut video being shown the
first time (although its length is cut obviously) , and then when it repeats
it 'works' but soon runs out of rendered footage.

Okay, maybe I am trying to do something the Flash video solution wasn't
designed to do.

So, I am trying the demo of MX2004 at the moment and it does the same thing.
It does allow you split your video into clips, but I found that having spent
30 minutes doing this it only imported 2 of the 10 clips I had defined.

This was not a happy moment.

Is their any way round all this?
