data projector and resolution

| Greetings
I would like to be able to project Windows Media Player files on a
laptop through a data projector.
I can project everything else - including DVD's and videos played
through separate machines - but when I start Media Player (or
InterVideo DVD player, for that matter), the programme starts but the
picture part is just black.
The projector and the laptop are at the same resolution and I am not
sure where to start to look for what the problem might be - any leads
would be appreciated.

| My research shows it usually is a video driver characteristic.
Goto the video driver's control panel and play with the settings. Areas to look for refer to "dual monitor" or "secondary display" and properties like "clone video" and such....
