Is Your Paint Shop Pro XI SLOOOOW???

| I went from Paint Shop Pro 7 to XI and boy is it sloooow?
Is anyone else having this problem?
It takes about four times longer to come up then Pro 7 did.
Also, who was the idiot programmer that thinks they just have to
rename the icons.
When your use to the naming of an icon like BROWSER, why change it to
ORGANIZER. Half of my old icon buttons I can't find because they
renamed them.

You're right about most of it, but the reason the Browser is now called the
Organizer is because it is not like the old browser and has been re-
designed to be an organizer with a database just like other organizers.
However, that is one of the things that slows down the operation of PSPXI
and many users of previous versions can't stand it.
Other than the Organizer, even when disabled you'll have to expect PSPXI to
take longer to open than PSP7 simply because it is a much bigger program
and more tools and filters have been added since PSP7.

I figured that was the issue.
I wish I could turn off most of the tools.
I bet I don't use 1% of the ones that get loaded.
I probably have never used more then about 20 of the tools.
Thanks,

If you have a large number of photos in the folders that PSPP XI is
cataloguing, the program might run slowly until it has finished. It
might also run slowly while it's cataloguing if you don't have it
patched to version 11.20. It might also run slowly if the machine it's
installed on is old... PSP 7 vintage for instance.
So make sure that you have the 11.20 patch, which is available from
http://apps.corel.com/support/patches/psppxisp2/. (Various versions for
the different types of PSPP XI). Also make sure that your computer
comfortably exceeds the recommended system configuration at
http://www.corel.com/servlet/Satell...t/1157730491482 and
that its video and motherboard drivers are up to date and properly
installed. Then start PSPP XI and let it run while you do something else
that doesn't use the computer and let it finish cataloguing everything.
It might only take a couple of minutes, or it could take a couple of
hours if you have a huge number of images in your My Pictures folder.
