Author Editing only part areas of a photo

Hi

I have taken a photo of a horse that is two colours, the while it ok
but the chestnut has not come out as a rich colour. How do I enhance
say 5 seperate areas of its coat to a much more rich chestnut colour
but leave the rest of the photo as is?

Selections Probably with a feather.
Magic wand with a lowish tolerance Might grab just the bit you want
