| I'm still not able to load psp 8 or 9, and have pspimage files that
are invisible to seven. Does anyone know of a code change to the files
that would make them visible to 7, so I could open and work on them?
It's impossible to me, but someone with the requisite

The only thing I can suggest is that you try installing the trial version
of PSPX. If that installs, open the pspimage files with it, then save as
pspimage again, but first click the Options button in the save dialogue
and save as PSP7 Compatible. Then use zapps to uninstall the trial if
you have no further need for it.

I have the 8 Eval and it did the same thing as the reg discs did.. I'm
trying to track down something, as ACDsee later put a psp format in
it's browser and they have a convert feature, but I can't so far do
any thing with the psp files. Thanks

Anyone remember Gary Barton, he was an expert on psp's script and
worked on some for me. Well, I sent out two emails and one had a bad
addy and the other went unanswered. Does anyone know where or how he
is? Yesterday, I had a new idea and downloaded many graphic
converters, some even having pspimage on their stats, but reg psp is
as far as they could go, so neverland here I
come..............................

I have a Photoshop plugin (which should be compatible with PSP 9 or
later) that can open image layers from PSP files: Try downloading from
http://telegraphics.com.au/sw/#pspformat or I can extract the images
for you.

Yeah, I overlooked the bit where he couldn't load v9 :/
He could try this plugin in v7, but the Jasc PS plugin host is
buggy...

PSP does not use file fomat plugins but has them built into the application.
He could try working out why his PSP 9 and 8 are no longer working when
they work for the rest of us.

I have spent weeks doing just that, and the closest I have come is
something about GD32 files name may be off, but similar, I can load
lots of other programs, just not those two.

Greg, GD32.exe is showing up in my search as the McAffee Shredder. I'd try
either uninstalling McAffee and getting Norton, or uninstalling McAffee and
reinstalling it, then up date it. or you could try updating McAffee first.
Looks to me like the antivirus software isn't playing nice for some reason.
I loathe McAffee because I had problems with in way back in Windows 98.
If all else fails, do a clean format and reinstall from Windows on up.

Actually it's Gdi32.dll, and there was that and another mentioned in a
psp error, but no matter what I replace, nothing gets better.

I ran Registrar Lite and when mcafee and norton came up, one's I had
deleted long ago, I got hopeful again, to the point of elation, but
that was quickly smashed upon the asphalt of reality for maybe the
seventh install and crash. At first I got this one One or more command
libraries is missing(found 81 commands, expected at least 590)You may
need to reinstall. and then invalid page fault in module Paint Shop
Pro.EXE at 01c7:0043c20a., the numbers in this last one have remained
in many of the faults, but who knows what it means. Thanks for your
Hope.

Incorrect. PSP can emulate a Photoshop plugin host (including File
Format plugins). It's just damn buggy (although version 9 is better).

Putting the PSPFormat.8bi file in either the Plug-ins directory or
Plug-ins\File Formats directory should work. Re-launch Photoshop. Go
to the Open box, choose a PSP image, and you should get a layer
selection box. Only image layers are supported, and only one at a time
- but I hope this still helps you out of your sticky spot.

Does the layer box only show up if the plug-in is working, cause I got
that, but of course, the worse thing is you can only same one layer at
a time, which can be over come by saving a separate image for each
layer. Trouble is, some layers come out with a solid red tint, like in
masks, and the realist colors are gone, but this doesn't happen to my
painted layers, so, with a whopping amount of work, I think I can put
some back together enough to work on. Gee, jasc has no idea what the
created, the weirdest file on the net. Thanks

Yes, if you see the box, it's installed and working.

That might be a bug I don't know about :/ Is there any chance of you
sending me one of your PSP files to try?
