Author How do I draw a clear ellipse

I would like to put a ellipse around some text for a screen shot.

When I use the ellipse tool it causes the middle of the shape to
change to white.

How can I draw just the edge of the shape?

Thanks

Fetch the Preset Shapes tool. Clear the check "Retain style" in its
Tool Options palette. Check "Create as vector" and set the width of
the line. For more about these, see Help > Contents > Drawing and
Editing Vector Objects > Drawing Circles and Ellipses.

In the Materials palette, set the Foreground and Stroke Properties
box to the color of the line and set the Background and Fill
Properties box to Transparent (the international null symbol). For
more about these, see Help > Contents > Working with Colors and
Materials > Using the Materials Palette.

Mute or kill the second color box by the picker.
