Author Where can I buy Paint Shop Pro versions 7, 8 or 9? Ebay safe?

My Windows 2000 OS and older CPU can't handle versions 10 or 11, so
versions 7 through 9 would probably suffice.

Is there any reasonable and reputable place to buy used software?

That site says the versions are all trial versions. The trial versions
of 7, 8 and 9 will expire after 30-60 days.

A reasonable suggestion regarding the computer upgrade, providing it is
fits the OP's situation. But even with a computer upgrade, I'd still
suggest that PSP 9 is as far as one needs to upgrade PSP to have all of
the functionality of PSP without inheriting other issues introduced in
the X versions - v.XI being the worst of the two.

Your ol' computer doesn't have, at a minimum, a Pentium 2 300MHz and
256MB RAM for PSP 10? I didn't think a $30 product
(http://www.viosoftware.com/Paint+Sh...+Pro+X+OEM.html)
would have much for system requirements, and it doesn't.

I've both bought and sold software on e-bay, with no problems yet. Just be
careful in reading the description, send e-mail to the seller if there's
anything you aren't absolutely certain you understand, and don't _assume_
anything not stated.

There are other sources, but a local one I've used several times in the past
and trust only has PSP X and PSP XI, not 9.0. I found that local source by
attending a computer swap meet that occurs monthly in this area.

The Oldversion.com versions are evaluation copies and I don't think Corel
issues serials for those anymore.

As for upgrading, I'd rather buy or build a new computer than purchasing a
faster CPU, and I'm trying to avoid using bloated programs like PSP X or
XI, and the bloated Windows XP (and especially Vista) for as long as I can.

I've considered PSP 10 (and I have the requirements), but it's quite a bit
of a heavier CPU and ram load that PSP 7-9 (especially 7 and 8). I don't
have much of a need for the advanced features of 10, although if I saw a
good rebate or site coupon, I would consider it.

Has anyone used PSP 10 on a slower CPU like a Pentium II or III? I know
PSP 7 works very well.

Tried it and it's not close. I tried Gimpshop because it's supposed to be
closer, but it crashes quite often.

I'm perfectly happy with PSP 9.0, and it was specifically 9.0 or older that
the original poster was looking for. I bought PSP v X, but after reading
what people had to say about it, and seeing that it didn't appear to add
capability useful to me, I never bothered to load it.

When I have wanted "a deal" on a new, current version, I've just watched the
Fry's Electronics ads. Got one version for US$9.95, as I recall, after the
rebates.

Photoshop Elements might be worth considering too, depending on what you
want to do.

Go download the trial version and see for yourself how it performs on

I saw a "Paint Shop Pro" product for about $140 in CompUSA, but Elements
was MUCH less expensive, maybe $30. Corel Corporation, has been known to
spam, and make "deals" with Dell Computers to solicit the spyware
software. Not a very nice Canadian outfit. Pathetic, at best.

They carry many titles that are current or prior generation at very
