using drop shadow causes white fringe on image

| Using PSP 8
Image looks good untill I add a drop shadow, then an ugly white
fringe appears around the image. I tried defringe, remove white
matting, and feathering the image, none of which works.

Seeing an example makes it easier to diagnose a problem. Corel
groups allow the posting of binaries, so you might want to consider
subscribing to at least the PSP8 group on Corel's server where you
can post an example image if you wish. The link below will take
you to their newsgroups page and you can scroll down to the Paint
Shop Pro groups and click on the group you wish to subscribe to.
