Hi!

I hope you dont mind newbie questions.

Is it possible to "unmerge" layers except by undo?

How to say to program change *this* color with *that* color?

When i save photo in JPEG with lossless encoding i cant open it with
Irfanview (error message "wrong encoding"). Whats wrong?

When i save photo in TIFF format there is no option to remove EXIF data. How
to remove it?

Pls help!

We don't mind, all having been newbies at one time. The only way to
unmerge layers is with Undo, which keeps the previous state of your
image until you close it.

The Color Replacer tool is made for replacing one color (with an
optional tolerance to get similar colors as well) with a *single*
color. If you want to replace a range of, for example, blues with a
range of, for example, greens, use the more powerful color filters
like Hue/Saturation/Lightness, Colorize, or Hue Map.

Lossless JPEG is a rare bird, supported by very few programs. For
portability, choose one of the more popular lossless formats like
PNG or TIFF.

Save As TIFF does not offer the choice explicitly, but LZW
compressed TIFF discards EXIF data, while uncompressed TIFF
preserves it. Once discarded, you can of course reopen the image and
save it as uncompressed TIFF.

If the image I'm working on might possibly require me to change things
later I save the file as a .psp thus preserving the layers before I
actually merge the image and save. I've often gone as far as saving
each layer individually. You will however end up with a good number of
files so organization is the key.

Or, you can delete all of your layer saves after you are confident with
your finished product.

When I work on a photo I keep saving every few minutes in PSP native
format. Then if I need to go back I can always use File>Revert. When I
am done with editing the image I save it once in the JPG format.
