Author Scans come up black in PSP7. Help pls!

Hi there.

I've been using PSP7 for a long time now but recently when I scan an
image from PSP the result is a solid black image. Not much use at all.
Scans work in PSP Studio but I don't want to use that. Scans also work
using the buttons on front of the scanner so I'm assuming the scanner is
not the problem.

I'm using an HP Scanjet 3970 USB flatbed and just noticed that when I
scan and use the Programs tab in the HP software that PSP7 nor PSP Studio
are listed as available programs to send the scanned image to. Nothing
in the help files or on the HP website references how to connect these
programs to the HP Photo and Imaging Gallery software. AAARRGGG!

Has anyone else had this happen? If so, how do I fix it?

Thanks

Something obviously changed in the interface between the scanner and
PSP. If you can recall what, that is your best clue. Perhaps you
installed or upgraded other software that uses the scanner? Perhaps
you changed the PSP scanner setup?

Check the PSP - scanner interface. File > Import > TWAIN > Select
Source. Your scanner should appear in the list. If not, then PSP
cannot find it in Windows' list of TWAIN-compliant devices.
Re-install your scanner's TWAIN software.

If the scanner does appear in the list, the interface is OK but the
data being sent is not. Knowing that it once worked, a
re-installation of PSP is probably the quickest way to restore the
data path.
