Hi

I'm using PSP6.02 (I know, pretty old)

It has been working fine for years but this morning it's doing something
unexpected

There is one particular font which, if I use it, causes a crash to desktop.
The font (flat earth scribe) was working fine yesterday, this morning I
started a new image and opened the text tool which still contained the text
I had used last night, when I clicked "ok" to write the text to the image,
PSP crashed without message.

I have tested different fonts and they are all fine, I have tested this font
in other programs without error. I don't understand what could've changed-
they are the very same words as last night! PSP crashes consistently every
time I try to use this font, and only that one font (that I can determine,
haven't tried every one)

Has anyone seen anything like this before, or can anyone offer any advice...
I could try a reinstall but I think my original disc is pretty beat up now
after several years.

(I know I should probably upgrade, but I used PSP7 and didn't get on well
with the changes in layout, and PSP6 does everything I need)

Yep - you're not alone. I came across this same problem a couple of months
back. It was a different font though and I didn't hang around to try to
debug it, so can't suggest why - but it's not peculiar to your system.

Well, I think it's only the upper case letters in that one font, having done
some more experimentation. I even re-installed the font with a different
name (hex editted), and it acts exactly the same.

It's wierd, I suppose I'll have to live with it.

You could replace it with a new verstion of that font or repair it with
Tweak XP if you have XP
