When I try to edit a script I click on the edit script icon and it
opens notepad instead of the basic script editor. How do I change this?

Thanks Jim

The PSP internal basic script editor doesn't work with scripts that have
been edited to contain raw Python code. It only works with scripts that
contain only calls to PSP actions and comments.

If the script you are trying to edit contains raw Python commands, you
can only use a text editor such as notepad. You can use any other text
editor by changing File->Preferences->FileLocations->PythonSourceEditor
but you can't use the internal editor.

Point PSP to an editor of your choice through

File, Preferences, File Locations, Python Source Editor

and PSP will start up this editor for you.

There are several (free) editors out there, check sites like this
