Author Anyone used Photo Impact 9 or 10 ?

Has anyone in the group used Ulead's PhotoImpact 9 or 10 ?
I'm looking for a digital photography editing program that is easy to
jump into & has great filters/resizing/decent
thumbnails/special-effects & more. ( mostly for landscapes,
architecture )
I noticed some Corel & microsoft products too between 70 and 200 aus
dollars at my retail store. Wish to buy retail as no longer have a
credit card for onliine purchases due to being ripped off once.

ROTFL !

Actually today, I stumbled upon ACDSee 6.0 delux for only $20 aus.
That'll do me for the thumbnails and some basic filtering.

Its funny cause version 7 is a hundred bucks. Big price difference
considering that Version 7 isn't a great jump ahead in terms of extra
features.

I got it free on the cover disk of PC world along with serif Photoplus 7.
My camera came with basic editing tools too.

But that's not the point. photo impact I'm told is good but customer service
is none existence. This group was a mine of help and tips in the past but
Psp users are now using the Cnews.corel.com private server

I was amazed to find ACDSee being sold (Boxed) in retail stores.
However, I thought the version I saw was $49 USD. Ulead's stuff is
pretty good. I used iPhoto 1.2, initially. You know Ulead has to produce
some good stuff, since they are still in business, unlike some other,
ahem, software vendors, like Jasc.

You also have to be careful to get a full version. Last year there was an
offer for free after rebatge or $10 after rebate, but without a version
number. I inquired of Ulead and was told it was a licensed version that
did not include all features.

I guess I have Trev to thank for hinting about what you can find from
magazines in newstands. I got Roxio's Photosuite 5 SE today which was
on the cover of some digital camera magazine.
May take a look at it in a few weeks time unless I see some bad
reviews on the net.

Yes, it had poor reviews.

Oh well, at least the magazine was a damn good read, its amazing how
much digital cameras has evolved in the last 5 years.
I can still remember back when I bought a one megapixel HP Photoshoot
for about 700 dollars, boy was that a piece of crap camera :-)

Now-adays, you can pick up awesome lil canon powershots for under 300
bucks. ( aus )

Having had a couple of versions of PhotoSuite before I gave up on it, I'd
agree. But keep your eyes on CompUSA ads for the 4th, if you have one
nearby, since this shows up on the Great Deal (free after rebate) page at
holiday time.

Anything SE isn't worth the trouble.

Thanks, Brendan, but I'm all graphics app'd out. I need a decent audio
editor.

Ryan, read my lips. Just because it got a bad review, doesn't mean it
isn't decent. Remember, people who write for magazines are far from
graphics experts. Most of them just write about what they read on the box.

:-)

Yeah, even I'm an owner of a digital camera. It's a Concord 2 MP.
Nothing to write home about, but it does take pictures, for $29 USD.
I even bought a 128 MB card for it. Got about 20 MB's filled and that
was the end of my photography career.

:-)

Have it.... old version. Nice app, though. Looking for real-time
effects. Looking at an app in the store, like $39, has a 64(?) bit
editor. Forget its name.

I read PC Authority, one of the better australian comp-tech magazines,
well I used to anyway. I had to stop buying it as I always had new
technology on my mind and my bank balance was going down.

I too had a 2 megapixel, a Kodak 280 which was fairly decent for its
time. Took some nice pics of hot sports-cars parked around my city and
a XXXXing bell-tower that no-body cares about :-)
Nice looking camera and lost it playing video-games before I went to
see a movie, left it on the machine... didn't I !
Cost me 1000 bucks and only had it for 2 months tops.
