I think Its save to say there will be a PSP 10 but when? Once the public
beta starts you know its on its way

My observation with Corel's acquisition of software that they did not create
(not just PSP) is that almost as soon as they get it, they screw with it,
put their brand on it then sit back and listen to tons of complaints . . .
about a year later they'll release a version putting things back to the way
people like it with tweaks worth buying or they'll sell it to some other
company.
So, since Corel has only recently released PSP 9 . . . look for 10 about
this time next year (that's my bet).

I'm amazed they can count that high.

Jasc released PSP9, and not too recently in software years.
Corel bought Jasc.
Corel's habit is to "integrate" what they buy, although this may not be
true with PSP if it is to be Buick to Corel Draw's Pontiac. If they still
sell Print House it would be a Chevy.
It might take a while to create a common software "chassis" for all these
lines. Hence PSP 10 might not be close.

I expect some of PSP's features to get into paint and some of draws ideas
into PSP but I feel that PSP will be sold as a lite Version of Draw being as
that is very much what it is.
But will art media survive ?

I think PSP10 could be sooner. I am at this very minute downloading
PSP10 Beta 1. I was chosen by Corel to beta test this for them. I can't
see it being a year before launch TBH.

Can't wait to hear your reactions.
How do you get chosen for this sort of thing? Given the problems people
have clearing an expired beta version before they install a legal paid
version I'm not sure I'd want to try, but I'm curious how PSP 10 compares
with PhotoPaint 12. (It's basically good but very old fashioned, and I
didn't get PSP 9 in the hope that PSP 10 will combine the best of both.)

Brendan -
Anyone who is invited to test is always required to sign non-disclosure
agreements which specifically permit discussion of any aspect of the
application, including its very existence.
So basically - if anyone really knows anything, they aren't allowed to
say. "I could tell you, but I'd have to kill you."

I seem to remember not too very long ago that anyone could download a
Beta version to test and there was a Beta Test PSP newsgroup. The Beta
lasted for about a month and then you had to download the latest Beta.
What happened to all that?

Jasc had a tradition of public betas but for many months prior to
public beta releases there was by invitation private alpha and beta
testing going on. People involved in private testing were required to
sign a non disclosure agreement as is the case with most beta testing
programs I've been involved in. I have no idea but I suspect that
Corel will operate in the same manner.

If you've passed 2nd grade, you'll qualify.
