Scripting a printed selection palette?
|

| I make text-based posters, many of them on 60" wide photo paper. It's not
cheap. I would like to somehow automate a task of making a sample swatch to
print to a small sheet.
For each text color I make up a set of 5 different small rectangles, all in
a row (I may have up to 5 different rows of rectangles), and fill them with
a background color. On top of that I place some representative text and
make the text differing colors abiding by some of my Lightness value rules
(Enough of a difference to read the text but not enough to be so stark in
contrast). Then I print that out to an 8 ½" x 11" sheet as a selection
palette for the exact combination I will finally send to the 60" printer.
Is this something I can script without a lot of difficulty? I'm not too
thrilled about learning another language noting that PS Pro uses the Python
language. I am skilled with AutoLISP within the engineering drawing program
AutoCAD.
I use PS Pro 8.10 (Yes, I just bought Spyder2 Pro for color calibrating my
monitor and I have my printer set for Color Matching but that all just doesn
't do the job.)

Len, you might want to take your question over to where a nest
of smart scripters often congregate.
