Thank Heaven, Corel found a third party (Pixmantec) to support their
Paint Shop Pro.

Oh, oh, it doesn't open RAW files directly, but converts them
(truncating 8 bits of color, presumably) to something Paint Shop Pro can
handle, like TIFF and JPEG!!!!

I could comment, Antonio, but I think I'll refrain...

More like 2.5 users - these days, and they count you as 1/2.

you don't have a camera to get a raw file.
you don't have PSP9.
you haven't download the Raw Shooter Essentials app.
there's no way you know how it works.
you presumably presume to know.
no, you don't know.

anything

I'm planning on getting Photoshop CS, though!

Probably has a virus to delete Adobe apps.

Worst yet, it's only a "free trial". I guess Corel isn't prospering as
much as they thought they were going to, after the purchase of Jasc
Software, Inc.

I've been using it for several days now and my impression is
favourable, in fact it's now my standard app for RAW conversion. The
workflow is enhanced by it's ability to export directly to your
editing app, be it PSP or PS. It's much faster than the PSP converter
and more full featured than the PS CS RAW plugin. The interface is
elegant and easy to use, A partnership between Pixmantec and Corel
bodes well for PSP and PP users.

It's not without teething problems though and really should be treated
as a beta imho. While it works fine on my relatively new Pentium4
system reports are that it doesn't work on any but the latest Athlon
processors. It appears to support most if not all DSLRs without
problems but it doesn't work on some point and shoots even though
support is claimed. In my experience this includes the Nikon 5700 and
8400.

The download is free and more information can be had at
