I'm using PSP and Win 98.

When I save PSP files as a .jpeg, in the left preview screen on My
Documents - they are sharp.

However, when the *same* photo is saved as .jpg - they are blurry in My
Documents.

How can I fix this?

Thank you to all,

Eddy

On most PCs, My Documents is the name of a folder. What program's
preview screen are you writing about, please?

I will guess that you are writing about the left and right preview
screens of the PSP JPEG Optimizer. Please click its Help button and
read about the left and right preview screens. JPEG files get blurry
because the compression requires some information to be discarded.
You control how much by setting the compression value and watching
the result in the right preview.

You can adjust the amount of information discarded, but you cannot
reduce it to zero. Every time the photo is saved, some information
goes, never to be recovered. That is why we save master copies in
PSP or another lossless format and use JPEG just once to prepare
small copies for export to the web, email, or elsewhere.
