Author Missing text tool?

Hi Folks

Sorry if this has been asked before but I've just been trying to mess
around with a photo on someone elses m/c using PSP8 and I've come across
a problem - a missing text toolbar. The text button is shown on the left
of the screen and pressing it brings up the text entry box but there's
no way of altering the font, size, colour etc. On my own PC running PSP6
(yes, I know it's old but why change something that works perfectly for
me!) I can edit everything without a problem. Where have they hidden it
on PSP8 ?

Its on the tool option bar (F4 Key). All the settings are on the tool
options which changes to suite each tool as you pick the tool. By default it
runs along the top below the std tool bar and the menu tool bar
