Am quite new to using graphics programs and was wondering what would
be the easyest way to remove a person/object from one photo and put
them/it into another ? Classic ,basic example: put myself into a pic
with a friend who posed in front of a famous landmark somewhere.I
believe it involves one of the selection tools, probably the magic
wand, just havent quite figured it out yet.Found a number of tutorials
on Google, but couldnt quite isolate exactly what I wanted.Probably
didnt know quite how to phrase the inquiry. Thanks for any help anyone
might offer.

If you have not found this one, try it:
http://pages.prodigy.net/kerrypierce/kyra.html. Written for PSP 7,
the only change for v8 or v9 would be to try the Background Eraser
for removing the background from the first photo of the person.

The techniques are the same, although the details will vary
according to the situation.

1.Remove the background around the subject.

2. Copy the subject and paste it as a new layer over the new
background.

3. Use the Deform tool to move, rotate, and resize the subject to
fit the new background.

4. Adjust color, brightness, contrast, and saturation to improve the
match with the new background.

To make it convincing, the lighting of the two photos must be
similar. If you have artistic skill, you could alter the shadows on
the subject.
