PSP 9.o.1.1
Grid size won't change.
Go to file Preferences general file preferences
transparency & shading.On the grid menue I have tried
all the different sizes and colors but nothing changes.
any one tell me what I'm doing wrong ?

It works for me. Have you perhaps chosen one of the solid colors in
the Scheme list, so no grid is visible? Try Scheme = Light Grey. As
you change Grid Size, the change should appear in the preview. When
you click OK, it should appear in any image that contains
transparency.

I'm not sure if this could be the problem, but there are two quite
different parts of PSP that can be called the "Grid", and their
properties are changed in different places.
One is the transparency grid... the checkerboard pattern that shows
through transparent areas. It is the size of the squares and colours of
this that are edited on the Transparency and Shading tab of General
Program Preferences.
The other grid is the alignment grid that is displayed over the top of
an image and can have objects snapped to it. It is toggled on and off
with either View > Grid or Ctrl+Alt+G. The colour and grid size of this
is set using the Grid tab of View > Change Grid, Guide & Snap
Properties...
