I had used Photoshop/paint shop pro and macromdedia fireworks in the past.

Now i want to buy one which is not as expensive.

I dont created anything advanced.

I need it for editing some tweaks or adding text to graphics etc.

Can anyone recommend me a substitute ?

Thanks,
Ashish T.

PSP is pretty inexpensive and since you've used it in the past you might be able to get it for the upgrade price.
Other than that MS Paint is free.

Like fugitive suggested, get an older version on ebay or amazon. Or,
you could check out the PSP Studio. It's a slightly-less featured
version of PSP 9, and a bit cheaper. www.jasc.com has a demo of it.
