I have captured several 8 and HI-8 family movies to AVI
and I plan to burn them on to DVD-R.

Question:
What is the best procedure to later capture de video from
the DVR-Rs to perform some edition?

Thanks in advance.

If you're writing the files as a dvd and not just a data disc on dvd w/ avi
files you don't want to use it for later editing. DVD's MPEG-2 format
throws away frames and is not good for archival purposes. I recommend saving
the avi files on a disc for future editing in addition to your DVD.
