Premiere 6.5, matrox rt2500. Artifats/blocks when encoding mpegs.

| I use premiere 6.5 (Pro sucks too much. Where's the transition track
anyways?) with a matrox rt2500 card. I use the matrox mpeg 2 i-frame codec.
When I use the adobe mpeg encoder (file-export-adobe mpeg encoder) to take
the timeline and convert to a mpeg for DVD authoring, I get problems. Every
few seconds I get artifacts on the screen. Blocks pop up on small areas of
the screen. I have tried messing around with the mpeg encoder settings, but
nothing.
Any one got a suggestion.

| The transition track, per se, sits where it should always have sat - on the
video track! You drag your trans to a point between two clips. It's far, far,
far superior to Premiere 6/6.5. You can also see a real-time effect of your
transition, but that's by-the-by. Upgrade to Premiere Pro (or 1.5) and give
it a few minutes' worth of your time. See if a modern version of the
software can iron out your problems and then get back if it can't. I'm
pretty good with Matrox cards + Adobe softies, but newer versions of
software should always be tried first. As you've already indicated, you have
access to the Pro version.
Trust me - it's far better a solution than 6 or 6.5 ever was.
