Author question: (clothing design project) how thick are the lines?

Hello all,

I have a clothing design project I am doing for a client in LA. One of
the constraints of the projects is that the lines on my designs, e.g.
an illustration cannot be less than a 1/4 of an inch. The thing is
since Illustrator sizes are relative, I was wondering how I can make
sure the lines are thick enough so that when they process the garment
it will hold up.
the illustrations are to be 24 inches by 24 inches.

Possible solution?
I was thinking of taking it in photoshop and resizing to 24 x 24 and
checking to make sure the thinnest line is atleast 8 pixels wide( 1/4
of inch). is this a solution? is there a better or easier one?

thanks in advance.

Is the 24in X 24in the final full size or is it 50% or what? It's just a
math problem.

NO PIXELS. 18 points equals .25 inch. I can't imagine where you got 8px.
That would be 32ppi. Regardless, think in vector, not raster.

Your last post did come in Nono, as you can see you were
even answered. Hi Inez!

What do you mean when you say: "Illustrator sizes are relative"?

If you use stroke for the lines they are totally under
command. But even a path would not be a problem, so I have
this feeling I do not understand your problem;)

Hiya, Steg!

I think the OP was referring to scalability.
