HOW DO YOU SAVE A GIF OR JPG OF WHAT'S INSIDE THE WORKING AREA.

| in other words, I would like to save a jpg or gif and not inlcude what
is hanging out of the working area or stage.
is there a quick fix for this.

If your document dimensions are what you want to show, deselect all and
Object menu>Crop Marks>Make. If you have object bleeding of the
document, draw a box with no border or fill to designate the area you
want to show; with the box still selected Make Crop Marks as above.
Your Save for Web should honor the crop marks.
