Author Swatch/Symbol Default Libraries?

I've created a symbol library with around 30 custom-drawn symbols and
a swatch library with 20 or so custom colors. How can I make these two
libraries the defaults so they will appear in every new drawing as
well as any previously created drawings when I open them for edit?

I've had a difficult time finding the answer in adobe help; any help
would be most appreciated. Thanks!

try saving your file something like "mySymbols.ai" and put it in the
Presets, Symbols folder. Run Illy and go to the Symbols Palette and click
the side arrow and navigate to the file you saved earlier and select it.
Drag'n'drop the new palette into the Symbols palette. Just click the side
arrow again and choose "Persistent" and it should be there each time you run
Illustrator.

Thanks Gary - it worked with both symbol and swatch libraries. Much
appreciated -
