Do you mean a drawing tablet (ex, Wacom)? If so, your tablet should
have come with a driver. The driver's interface should be where you set
preferences ...

I have a Wacom, and it's interface was easy to understand and set up.
And I didn't have to specifically set it up for Illy - it did that
"itself" when I installed it.

I think you need to give us a bit more info.

Also, why not try your tablet's manufacturer's site???

Perhaps I just don't understand your problem ...

I think Jacky is looking for tutorials on techniques for utilizing the
tablet for Illustrator. Wish I had that problem;)

I believe we have an example here of how things astrange
people....every kid knows how to draw something. Give the
kid a computer and a Wacom tablet and the kid thinks art
will flow out of the "pen" by itself.

so far, i've not figured out how to use the wacom pen as a pressure
sensitive "paintbrush" in Illustrator. I just use it like a mouse. the
pen works beautifully as pressure sensitive brush in Photoshop,
Freehand and Corel... i just cant figure out how to make in work in
Illustrator.

That is weird. Maybe you need a new driver? Or take a close
look at the Preferences of Illustrator?

too much trouble, if i need to do something like that, i'll switch to
either Freehand or Corel and do the work and then import it into
illustrator... so far that seems to work

i would like to figure out the illustrator thing, but i've poked
around and installed new drivers and nothing seems to work for me

Not having illustrator here at my desk today, I can only provide a vague recollection that within illustrator there is
a preference pane (maybe somewhere in brush preferences) that lets you decide if the brushes are pressure sensitive and
if so whether the pressure affects the angle, size or whatever).
