Paste to multiple layers

| Is there a way to paste the same object into the same position on multiple
layers in one single operation?
This seemingly useless thing to do would be very handy when making FLASH
animations. Let's say you want an obejct to appear on a subset of the
frames in an animation. Then you need to paste that obejct to all the
layers that will later define these frames. And that is very tedious for
complex animations.
Hope someone has an idea.

I don't know of a way to do exactly what you asked but an easy and
quick alternative would be to:
Paste object to new layer
Using the layer pallet
create multiple copies of the layer.
