Author setting one color of a gradiant to a specific rgb value

Say I wanted to set one color of a gradient to a specific rgb value -
say 21CCAA or something. How would I go about doing this? Right now,
it seems that the only method really at my disposal is to just sorta
guess and check...

create that color as a swatch or in color palette, drag the swatch/color to
the gradient bar where you want it.

That worked - thanks!

I guess it isn't possible to go in the other direction? To get the
color of a particular "anchor point" in a gradiant?

Click on the anchor point and it shows up in your color picker/tool.
Drag it to your swatches if you wish to save it. You can also modify the
gradient at that point on the fly.

How do I click on the anchor point? I tried the "Selection tool" and
the "Direct Selection tool" to no avail...
