This is a nice way to do it:
1. Open a new document
2. Use the brains and all the creativity you have
3. Use the pen, on paper or the tool in Illustrator
4. When satisfied save the document and empty the paper bin

What version of Illustrator are you using and what is your level of
experience.

You are correct. I can do this. However. I was wondering if for many common
attributes such as ticks, clouds, and many many others there may be some
symbol libraries available where someone else has made a perfect one
already.
:)
maybe?
Any great sites out there?
thanks for listening.

For vector logo's, look at this site and do mind about properties and
owner rights please.
http://www.brandsoftheworld.com/sea...4&brand_id=2516
Also you should pay a visit to Adobes Studio, register for free and enjoy.

Yep. Zapf Dingbats has ticks too. The Nike logo is nothing like a
typographically useful tick anyway...

| Go to www.brandsoftheworld.com. They have eps files of Nike. That way you
don't have to draw it at all.

That would appear uncalled for without knowing what use the original poster intended to make of the logo. There has
been a lot of use of logos in fine art to make political, social, and artistic coment - see, for example, the work of
Marcel Duchamp, Andy Warhol, Roy Lichtenstein, or more recently Yohannes Wohnseifer and Barbara Kruger, amongst many
others. To claim that Warhol 'stole' the HEINZ label would be an over-conservative interpretation of the principle of
"fair use".

I said so because it was about the Nike logo which of course has a world
wide copyright.
www.brandsoftheworld.com is a great site, but it does tell everyone this:
Quote: The primary use of site is to enable designers to access
vector-forms of the well-known brand-logos that they can use in their
presentations, given the permission of the copyright owner. The web site
also enables designers to upload their own works and professional
details. Unquote
"Given the permission of the copyrigyt owner" which would be Nike I am sure.
Now someone says it might save him some time to recreate a simple thing
as the Nike logo. It is a plain simple logo, only famous because of the
shoes and the clothing, not because the logo is so fabulous. Still owned
by Nike. And, this is a group for Illustrator users. So I would like to
see some advice how to make it or laern how to make it, instead of
pointing to the original vector image.

And never think that the copyright is of little consequence. Even
hobbyists "borrowing" a copyright are bound to the consequences.
And if Steggy mentioned it without being asked, he's doing the OP a
kind favor.

I was only replying to the thread - thinking that it helped thread
continuity. More for the benefit of others - obviously, you know full
well about copyrights, but the threads here and in ADG have convinced
me that many people don't know.
I'm sorry if I offended you or otherwise irritated you! : )
