anyone know where I can set the Output flatness in Illustrator CS?

It's not in the same place as Illsutrato 10, which was in file
menu/document setup tab.

I found a Cutome transparency slider in the document setup tab under
transparency custom button at the bottom.

but this doesn't seem the same and earlier versions of illustrator that
had a "output resolution flatness" box and you could give your vector
1270 or 2540 DPI output resolution when exporting or savin eps for
printer's, they would have to manually set this if you didn't.

Is this the same think, but it only gives me a slider from 0 -100. It
can;t be output resolution.

i can't understad ur problem properly.but i'll try to explain.....
1.the slider ur talking about is for raster/vector balance.under the
slider u can find the output resolution settings.there u can set upto
2540 ppi (there are two sub categories u can find).

2.if u are talking about exporting then it's totally different act.u
can go from File>export and export ur file in diffrent formats(such as
eps,jpg,png,tiff.....etc.).u can set any resolution.when ur
expoting, after naming the file a dialog box appears and u can set the
desired resolution there.eps file never requires a resolution because
its a vector file.

3.there is third kind of resolution setting.if u r using effects such
as blur, drop shadow, feather etc, u need to set the raster effect
resolution.which is from Effect>document raster effects settings.

hope this solve ur problem.

chitrok.
