Author circle contralled by radius and center

Hi all,

when drawing a circle, Illustrator builds a box around it, and it looks
like kind of difficult to control the position of the center of the
circle in question. Is there a way like in some CAD Softwares to draw a
circle by first defining its center and then its radius ??

thank you,

Pluton

alt + doubleclick on artboard could solve your problem
(alt-key defines the center-point)
