Illustrator disappears at random

| Has anybody else encountered this?
I'll be running Illustrator (CS2, Windows XP SP2) in conjunction with
Photoshop CS2. I'll work for a while, etc. switching back & forth when
necessary. All will go fine for a bit, but at some point..
Illustrator DISAPPEARS.
No errors, no warnings. No beeps, no whistles, no flashing red lights.
Illustrator just quits on its own, and if I hadn't saved my file
immediately before that, all my work is lost and I have to start over.
There doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason to it. It's happened when
I hit ctrl-S, it's happened switching to / from Photoshop, it's
happened when I just try to hide Illustrator.
Does anybody know what causes this and if there's a solution? I'm not
looking forward to a reinstall, but I'm thinking that's my only option.
Unless somebody here knows what else might be happening..
Help!
Thanks,
J

| I think used to hav the same prob, i think with Illy 10 or CS. To avoid
this, u need more RAM memory, something atleats 512MB. (1GB prefered).
Cos CS & CS2 requires much ram and if u open both Illy & Photoshop,
that really eats ur RAM. So upgrading ur RAM is th solution.
